My initial experience with my getting a Honda Prologue electric vehicle on Dec 26 has been riddled with problems, but this has been a Honda America problem—not the folks at Roy Schmidt. The sales team has been fully engaged in resolving the difficulties from the time I took delivery. This purchase is my sixth Honda since 1990--all but the first was bought new--but my first purchase from Roy Schmidt. I live halfway between Roy Schmidt and a high-volume Honda dealership near St. Louis. I like both dealers, but I started coming to Roy Schmidt for service because the service dept has been outstanding. There’s no pressure for “add-on” services, the facilities are first-rate, my car gets washed, and I’ve been offered a loaner car for any service more involved than an oil change. So, I came to Roy Schmidt when looking to buy a new Honda. In short, I got an unbelievable price and a great purchase experience. However, taking delivery of my new Prologue was troublesome, both for the dealership and me. It seems I bought only the second Prologue fully electric vehicle the dealership had sold in 2024. The car was plagued with HondaLink software problems, but my sales rep, Colby Antrim, made my car problems his to fix. The national HondaLink office was on reduced hours due to the holiday week, but Colby made the 2-hour roundtrip drive to my home to resolve the software setup. It took a couple more days to fix, but Colby got HondaLink to open a case to fix my software. The Prologue now (mostly) works. The few remaining manufacturing defects are scheduled to be fixed by the service dept next week--the delay is my doing due to back-to-back snowstorms here--while providing me with a loaner car during service. I have faith in Roy Schmidt Honda because they have made my new-car problems theirs to fix. Of course, that is what every dealership should do, but not all have been so willing in my past experience. I should note that my new Honda Prologue is a first-year model that was built in a GM factory as a collaboration between Honda and GM. I knew this when buying the car, which might help explain the great price and financing deal I got.

The level of customer service they provide at Roy Schmidt Honda is the same energy as flying home to spend holidays with your family.
